President’s Message
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your continued support and trust in our company.
Our company was founded in April 1949 in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, shortly after the end of World War II, under the name Okamoto Shoten.
Kure has long served as a central hub for Japan’s naval defense, flourishing as a key military and industrial city since 1886. Our current headquarters building still stands as a symbol of this legacy—it was originally constructed in the late 1890s as part of the former Imperial Japanese Navy’s electrical division. In the postwar period, Kure became home to world-leading technologies in shipbuilding, steel production, and boiler industries.
Building on this foundation, our company has grown alongside these industries, supplying industrial gases, gas cutting and welding equipment, safety gear, fire prevention systems, and chemical materials. More recently, we have expanded across Hiroshima, Okayama, and Yamaguchi prefectures, as well as established a representative office in the Republic of the Philippines to serve the Southeast Asian market. We also launched an Environmental Business Division and constructed a new recycling plant to further contribute to sustainability and social trust. Today, our aim goes beyond business expansion.
What we truly seek is to build a place where people from different backgrounds, with different values and areas of expertise, can come together, inspire one another, and create value in unexpected ways—like a kind of human chemistry. This philosophy has been at the heart of our company since its founding. When people come together, their wavelengths may differ.
There may be disagreements and friction along the way. But through such experiences, we believe we cultivate something equally important: human depth and integrity. Difference is not a flaw.
Difference is potential. And when differences resonate, they become a powerful voice. We believe that when each individual’s voice resonates with others, it creates a force unlike any other.
This is not about insisting on oneself—but about growing the ability to harmonize with others through respect, discipline, and empathy. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can discover their own value, embrace challenge, and realize their potential—
growing not only as a company, but as people. As a company with deep roots in history, a clear view of the future, and unwavering belief in human potential,
we humbly ask for your continued guidance and support. And if this journey speaks to you—let your next step be with us.
